A wonderful new technical term which I've learnt from Mr. GGL: "disintermediate". It has a comparable resonance to a less Latinate term, and which also resonates for me: "Lube yer bulb, dude". The call was late arriving so I began the ritual which, unfailingly, assures that the telephone rings: unfurling of the trousers. Partial or complete unfurlment both work: front or rear both bring on the call, as it were.
